Welcome to our home, we hope you enjoy your stay at the Turquoise House in Scottsdale! We would love to hear about your visit. In the age of modern technology, we thought it would be easiest and most appropriate to have an online guestbook. Please share your adventures with us! We love hearing about what people love seeing and doing in the area. We also love feedback on our home. To get things started, we have submitted our own entry. Enjoy!
We had a blast setting up this home! Yes, it was fun, but it was also a lot of work! We spent many weekends traveling back and forth between southern California and Scottsdale to make sure everything was just the way we wanted it. Our 2 little girls have become incredibly patient! And that’s not easy for a 5 and 2 year old! They are now professional road trippers and self entertainers. But it sure helps that they have cousins in the area! It always helps to have extra playmates while in Scottsdale.
We decided to take on a vacation rental in the area because we love the desert! We love being outside swimming, grilling, and just hanging out with friends and family. We use the home as a retreat from our busy schedules, constant deadlines, and a place to regroup and focus on family. We also love that we can bring our privileged Beagle "Walter" with us (he is spoiled rotten!). Walter loves to travel and gets very upset when he is removed from his pack. This home allows us to keep the whole pack together.
Not matter what season it is, there are things to look forward to in the Scottsdale area. The summer heat is perfect for pool lounging on the awesome Baja shelf. The cooler seasons are great for hiking, shopping, golfing, or checking in on your favorite baseball team’s spring training!
Some of the fun things the Guys like to do are Go Karting, visit the car dealerships and Penske Racing Museum for lunch, go mountain biking and the Guys’ favorite local restaurant is Cantina Laredo. They highly recommend the guacamole they make in front of you at the table, the sizzling fajitas or carne asada, and of course the margaritas!
The Gals like to walk the shops at Kierland Commons and Paradise Valley Mall , go hiking up the Cholla Trail and Camelback Mountain, and their favorite restaurant is the Wildflower Bread Company for breakfast, and of course Mastro’s Ocean Club for dinner.
We also found a nice pet friendly brewery to bring Walter to - OHSO Brewery in Paradise Valley is nearby and has great homebrew and also their own distillery. This is a fun place to go hang out with an excellent menu and fun activities.
We have found there are plenty of fun day trips to take around the greater Phoenix area as well. Bartlett Lake is a quick drive northeast and has boat rentals, stand up paddleboards, excellent beach access, and makes for a great day trip. Lake Pleasant is also a great place to go fishing, boating, and also makes for an excellent day trip.
We look forward to adding to this list of fun activities and experiences in the future while staying at the Turquoise House Scottsdale. Most importantly, we wan
t to hear about your stay! Let us know how it went and some of the great things you did while you were here!
